Are you a sales hunter or farmer?

If you are struggling and not enjoying your sales job have you ever considered what style of sales person that you are?There are two types of sales people,hunters and farmers.Its important not just for you but also for your sales manager that you are in the correct sales job for your individual style.Hunters just love to prospect for clients.Nothing excites them more than the thrill of the chase and the landing (so to speak ) of a new client.While farmers love to account manage and grow business with existing clients.Both roles require specific personality types.If the rolls are mixed up neither are productive which in turn can destroy business and the career prospects of those involved.

So take some time this week to think about what type of salesperson you are.Make a list of the things that you like about your job and why.Show this to your sales manager and confirm with them that you are in the correct role.Now go and enjoy the proud profession of sales.
